How to Recover Your Items After Dying

Find the Chest Fast

When you die, a deadchest spawns at your exact death location holding your full inventory, including armor. A holographic display above the chest shows your name and the remaining time before it disappears. Read that timer first, because once it hits zero the chest and everything inside are destroyed permanently.

Open and Collect

Walk up to the chest and open it. If the server uses private chests, only you or an admin can access it, so other players cannot steal your gear. Take everything out before the timer runs out. If you are playing with the player-head variant instead of a chest, the interaction works the same way.

If You Cannot Reach It

Dying in lava, the void, or a dangerous mob area can make recovery hard. Ask an admin to retrieve the contents, since admins can open any deadchest. On servers with WorldGuard support, region rules may affect where chests can appear, so if a chest failed to spawn, report the location.

Avoid Losing Everything

Note your coordinates the moment you die, or use a waypoint. Return with gear you can afford to lose, since you may die again on the way. If the timer is short, prioritize speed over fighting mobs.
