Make blocks fly upward instead of falling
Using Flying Block entities
The flying block entity works like Minecraft's falling block, except it moves upward instead of downward. This creates unique visual effects for your map.
Summoning flying blocks
Use the summon command:
`
/summon dawn:flying_block ~ ~ ~
`
You can customize the flying block just like a falling block:
- Specify which block it displays
- Set its motion and velocity
- Configure whether it damages entities on impact
- Adjust how it behaves when it hits solid blocks
Practical uses
Flying blocks work well for:
- Creating upward-flowing lava or water effects
- Building anti-gravity puzzle mechanics
- Designing cinematic sequences where terrain rises
- Making debris fly upward after explosions
Combine flying blocks with custom TNT for dramatic effect sequences. You can also use command blocks to spawn them in patterns for more complex animations.
