Making a Hub, Town, or Quest Zone With DarkSpawn
Planning the Destination
DarkSpawn is best used as a single shared arrival point. Decide what that point is: a central hub with portals to other areas, a town spawn where players gather, or a quest zone entrance. Build the location first, then stand on the exact arrival block and note its coordinates.
Wiring It Up
Edit the datapack file to point the trigger at your chosen coordinates and dimension, then reload. Because the mod only needs to be on the server, your players do not install anything — they just type /trigger darkspawn and appear at your hub. This makes it ideal for public servers where you cannot force mod installs.
Design Tips
Surround the arrival point with clear signage or paths so players immediately know where to go. Avoid placing the point on a pressure plate, trapdoor, or edge. If your hub has multiple exits, face the arrival direction toward the most important one. Consider putting a return command sign or a book explaining the trigger nearby so new players discover it.
Combining With Other Systems
You can pair the trigger with permission or scoreboard gates if your server uses them, but the base mod does not require it. Keep the destination stable — moving it often confuses returning players. If you run events, temporarily repoint the trigger to an event arena, then restore it afterward.
