Using DarkFlight for Practical Travel and Building
Traveling Long Distances
DarkFlight is not fast flight, but it is cheap and repeatable. The trick to covering ground is to chain flights: trigger levitation, drift forward with your movement keys while rising, then let Slow Falling carry you down. The moment you touch ground, trigger again. With practice you can hop across biomes without ever building a bridge or burning rockets.
Reaching High Places
Because levitation lifts you straight up, DarkFlight is excellent for reaching cliff tops, floating islands, or the top of tall builds. Stand at the base, trigger flight, and hold forward toward the target. Slow Falling gives you a long window to adjust your horizontal position before you land.
Building at Height
For scaffolding-free construction:
- Place a temporary block at ground level as a launch pad marker so you can find your spot again.
- Trigger flight, rise to your build height, and drift into position.
- While Slow Falling, you have time to place blocks beneath you before you descend past them.
- Land, restock, and repeat.
Things to Avoid
Do not trigger flight indoors or under low ceilings — you will bump your head and waste the effect. Avoid triggering over lava, the Void, or deep water where Slow Falling will not save you. And keep a spare diamond shovel in your inventory in case you accidentally drop the one in your off-hand mid-journey.
