How to Activate Flight with the DarkFlight Mod

Getting Set Up

Before you can fly, you need two things ready: a diamond shovel and access to the /trigger command. Place the diamond shovel in your off-hand slot (press F by default on Java Edition, or drag it into the shield slot in your inventory). The main hand can hold whatever you like — a sword, a pickaxe, or nothing at all.

Triggering the Flight

Once the shovel is equipped in your off-hand, open chat and type /trigger flight. If everything is set up correctly, you will immediately begin to levitate upward. You do not need to jump or hold any keys — the effect applies automatically.

A few things to keep in mind:

• The shovel must stay in your off-hand for the trigger to work. Swapping it out mid-flight may cancel the effect.
• The levitation is temporary. You will rise for a short period and then the effect ends on its own.
• You cannot steer freely like creative flight. Plan your launch point so you drift toward where you want to land.
• If the command does nothing, double-check that the shovel is actually in the off-hand slot and not just hotbar-adjacent.

Once the levitation wears off, the mod's Slow Falling effect kicks in, so you will glide down gently instead of taking fall damage.
