How to Update Cyclops Core Without Breaking Dependent Mods
Updating Cyclops Core can be risky if you do not check compatibility with the mods that depend on it. Because it is a library, a newer version may change internal APIs that older dependent mods rely on. Always update carefully.
Before You Update
1. Make a backup of your world and your mods folder. This is the most important step.
2. Note down the current version of Cyclops Core and every mod that depends on it. You can find this in your mod list or by checking the jar filenames.
3. Check the changelog or documentation for the new Cyclops Core version to see if there are breaking changes. If the changelog mentions API changes, dependent mods may need updates too.
Performing the Update
1. Remove the old Cyclops Core jar from the mods folder.
2. Add the new Cyclops Core jar. Ensure it is for the same Minecraft version and mod loader.
3. Launch the game and check the mod list. If any dependent mod fails to load or shows a version error, you may need to update that mod as well, or revert Cyclops Core to the previous version.
4. Test your world. Load a save and check that dependent mods still function. If something breaks, restore your backup and revert the update.
When to Avoid Updating
If you are in the middle of a playthrough and everything works, there is often no need to update Cyclops Core unless a dependent mod requires a newer version. Stability is more important than having the latest library version.
