Making a Custom Credits Screen for Your Modpack or Server

Plan Your Credits Layout

Before editing files, decide what the credits should communicate. Modpack creators typically list the pack team, mod authors they want to thank, and a closing message. Server teams often list staff ranks, contributors, and a welcome or farewell note. Sketch the sections in order so the final screen reads cleanly from top to bottom.

Build the Sections in the Config

Open ./config/customcredits/ and edit the credits file. Add a header line for each section — for example, a team section, a contributors section, and a thanks section — then list the names beneath each header using the format shown in the default file. Keep names consistent in capitalization and spacing so the screen looks polished. If you prefer, use /credits add [section] [name] to append entries one at a time while the game is running.

Preview, Polish, and Ship

Run /credits show to preview the full screen. Check alignment, section order, and that no names are missing. Adjust the file and re-preview as many times as needed — the mod reloads on each open, so there is no restart step. Once it looks right, include the edited config files in your modpack distribution or server resource pack so players see your custom credits on first completion.
