How to Edit the Minecraft Credits Screen with Custom Credits Mod
Locate and Open the Config Files
After installing Custom Credits Mod, launch the game once so it can generate its default files. Open your Minecraft instance folder and navigate to ./config/customcredits/. Inside you will find the text files the mod uses to build the credits screen. Open them with any plain text editor — Notepad, VS Code, or similar. Do not rename or move these files, or the mod will fall back to vanilla credits.
Add Your Own Sections and Names
Each line in the credits file represents an entry. Use the format the default file demonstrates: a section header followed by the names or messages you want shown under it. You can add your modpack team, server staff, contributors, or thank-you notes. Keep one entry per line and avoid special characters that could break parsing.
Preview Without Restarting
Once your edits are saved, run /credits show in-game to preview the result instantly. The mod reloads the file every time the credits screen opens, so no reboot is needed. If something looks wrong, alt-tab back to the file, fix the line, save, and run /credits show again. You can also use /credits add [section] [name] to append entries directly from chat without touching the file.
