How to See What Music Is Currently Playing in Minecraft
What the overlay does
When a music track starts, the mod briefly displays the track's name on screen as a text overlay. This is the core feature and it works automatically — you don't need to press anything to make it appear. The overlay is tied to the moment a new track begins, so it will show up shortly after the music starts rather than on demand.
If you don't see it
- Make sure in-game music is actually enabled in Minecraft's own sound settings. The mod reports the track that the game is playing; if music is muted or the Music slider is at zero, there is nothing for it to report.
- Check that you haven't disabled the overlay in the mod's config file. The overlay behavior is configurable, so it can be turned off there.
- Give it a moment. Tracks begin at intervals rather than constantly, so on a quiet world you may simply be waiting for the next one.
- If you use other HUD or overlay mods, they may be drawing over the same screen area. Moving the overlay's position in the config resolves overlap.
Once the overlay appears, note the name it shows — that is the exact track title you can search for later.
