How to Make Your Forest Look Bushier with Cubic Leaves

Understanding What the Pack Changes

Cubic Leaves replaces the flat, see-through leaf textures with denser, blockier foliage. Because it is a resource pack and not a mod, it does not add new blocks or change hitboxes — it only changes how leaves render. That means you can get a fuller look without breaking vanilla behavior, redstone, or mob spawning rules tied to leaf blocks.

Steps to a Bushier Look

1. Walk into any biome with trees (oak, birch, spruce, jungle, acacia, dark oak, mangrove, cherry) and compare the canopy. Each species now has its own leaf design, so mix tree types in one area for variety.

2. Plant trees close together so their canopies overlap. Since the textures are denser, overlapping leaves read as a continuous bush rather than separate blobs.

3. Leave some leaf blocks unpruned. In vanilla many players strip leaves for visibility; with Cubic Leaves the extra coverage looks intentional rather than messy.

4. Add leaf blocks as hedges and garden borders at ground level. The blocky texture makes them read as trimmed shrubs.

5. Use vines and mossy blocks next to leaves to blend the canopy into the ground layer.

Quick Tips

  • Test in a creative world first so you can fly around and judge the canopy from above.
  • If a build feels too busy, remove the lowest ring of leaves to open sightlines while keeping the top dense.
