How to Tame and Manage Pet Animals

Finding Tameable Animals

Not all animals in this mod can be tamed—roughly one-third of the roster are compatible. Start by consulting your Zoological Guide to identify which species accept taming. Look for these animals in their natural biomes: passive creatures in forests and plains are your best targets, as they won't flee or attack during the taming process.

Taming Process

Approach a tameable animal slowly and interact with it using the correct item (check your guide for species-specific requirements). Once tamed, the animal becomes your pet and gains a visual indicator of ownership. Tamed pets follow you and provide special abilities depending on their type—some offer extra storage, while others assist with enchanting tasks.

Transporting Your Pets

Use the Animal Transporter item to pick up and move your tamed pets safely. This is especially useful when relocating pets between bases or protecting them from danger. You can also use Sleep Arrows to temporarily incapacitate pets before transport if needed, though this is unnecessary for already-tamed companions.
