Understanding and Resisting the Stun Effect

What is Stun?

The Stun effect is a unique mechanic introduced by Howlers' scream attack. When hit by this effect, you become temporarily immobilized and unable to move or act. This is one of the mod's key difficulty additions.

How Stun Works

When a Howler screams, nearby players within range are affected. The duration of stun varies, but it leaves you vulnerable to follow-up attacks. Multiple Howlers in one area compound this danger.

Mitigation Strategies

• Distance: Maintain maximum range from Howlers. Ranged weapons let you attack without triggering screams as frequently
• Armor: Wear protective gear to reduce damage taken while stunned
• Positioning: Never fight Howlers in enclosed spaces where you cannot escape. Open caverns or outdoor areas give you room to kite
• Preparation: Bring potions or food to heal quickly after stun effects wear off
• Group Play: If playing multiplayer, coordinate with teammates to distract Howlers while others recover from stun

Stun is designed to make Howler encounters tactical rather than straightforward combat.
