How to Build a Ghast Tear Farm Using the Crying Ghasts Mod

Choosing a Location

Because ghasts only cry when a player is nearby, your farm needs a safe spot where you can stand within range of the ghast without being blown up. The Nether is the natural choice, since ghasts spawn there frequently. Build a small enclosed platform or observation room with a clear line of sight to open air where ghasts can float. Keep the walls solid so fireballs cannot reach you, and leave a window or fence opening so you can still be "close enough" for the mod to trigger crying.

Setting Up Collection

Place a hopper and chest system directly beneath the area where ghasts hover. Tears fall straight down, so a hopper minecart or a line of hoppers feeding into a chest will catch them automatically. If you are playing on a server with other players, remember that anyone within the configured distance can trigger the crying, so you can share the farm.

Tuning the Config

Open the config file and adjust maxDistanceToGhastBlocks if your platform is larger than the default range, or lower ghastTearDelayTicks if you want faster drops. Test with a single ghast first to confirm tears are landing in your hopper before scaling up the platform.
