Configuring Crying Ghasts Delay and Distance for Your Playstyle
Finding the Config File
After installing the mod, a config file is generated in your Minecraft config folder. Open it with any text editor. You will see two main options: maxDistanceToGhastBlocks and ghastTearDelayTicks. These control how close you must be and how often tears drop.
Adjusting Distance
maxDistanceToGhastBlocks sets the radius in blocks within which a player must be for ghasts to start crying. The default is fairly generous, but if you build a large farm platform you may want to increase it so ghasts on the far side still trigger. If you want a more challenging, close-range farm, lower it. Changes apply after restarting the game or reloading the world.
Adjusting Delay
ghastTearDelayTicks controls the time between tear drops, measured in ticks. A tick is one twentieth of a second, so the default delay equals one minute. Lower the number for faster tears, raise it for a slower, more balanced rate. If you are running a server, set this high enough that tears remain valuable. Always back up your config before editing, and test in a creative world first so you do not disrupt your survival save.
