How to Read the Crosshair Indicator While Fighting

What the crosshair is telling you

When you aim at another player, the crosshair itself changes appearance to signal whether your swing will actually connect with their hitbox. This is the core function of the mod: instead of relying on the small vanilla attack indicator bar, the information is placed right where your eyes already are. A crosshair in its "hittable" state means a swing from your current position and angle will register as a hit. A crosshair in its "unhittable" state means you are out of range, misaligned, or otherwise unable to land the hit.

Using it in a real fight

Keep your eyes on the center of the screen rather than glancing down at the hotbar. When the crosshair flips to the hittable state, that is your cue to click. If it stays unhittable while you are chasing someone, you are too far away — close the gap before swinging. Because the indicator is not tied to a fully-charged attack, you can also use it to judge spacing during rapid clicking or while strafing. Practise in a controlled setting first: stand at various distances from a friend or a target dummy and watch exactly where the crosshair transitions between the two states. That boundary is your effective reach, and learning it by eye is far faster than counting blocks.
