Growing a Critter from Crops

Critters spawn naturally when fully grown crops reach maturity. Most crops have an 8% chance to transform into a critter instead of dropping seeds and produce.

Steps:

1. Plant and fully grow any standard crop (wheat, carrots, beetroot, potatoes, etc.)

2.

3. The crop will randomly transform into a critter—you'll see it become a small living creature

4. The critter will begin performing its automated task immediately

Guaranteed Critter Spawning

If you want more reliable critter generation, use Soul Farmland:

1. Place Soul Farmland blocks in your farm

2. Plant crops on Soul Farmland

3. When crops mature on Soul Farmland, there's a 40% chance they spawn a critter (much higher than standard farmland)

4. You can also use Soul Farmland's 50% chance to tame wild critters that wander nearby

This method is ideal for setting up automated farms early, as you'll generate critters faster than waiting for the 8% chance on regular farmland.
