Set Up Your First Lava Turbine Power System

Placement and Basic Setup

Lava turbines are your earliest renewable power source. Find or create a lava pool at least a few blocks deep. Place a Lava Duct Turbine directly into the lava source block—it will partially submerge. On top of the turbine, place a Lava Duct Shaft to collect the rotational output.

Adding Water Supply

The turbine needs a steady water supply to generate power. Use water buckets, a pump, or a fluid pipe to deliver water to the turbine. You can place water directly adjacent to or above the turbine. Once water reaches the turbine while it sits in lava, it will begin spinning and generating rotational force.

Scaling Up

To increase power output, place multiple Lava Duct Turbines in the same lava pool. Stack their shafts or connect them with gearboxes to combine their rotational output. This setup requires no fuel and runs indefinitely, making it ideal for early-game machines like crushers, saws, and pumps.
