Set Up Directional Headlights and Tail Lights on Your Train
Placing the Light Blocks
Before assembling your train, place the headlight and tail light blocks on your locomotive or train car. Position headlights on the front-facing end of your train and tail lights on the rear. These blocks will automatically detect which direction your train is traveling and switch their appearance accordingly.
Assembling and Testing
Once your lights are positioned, assemble your train at a train station block as normal. Drive your train forward along the tracks—the front lights should emit bright white beams, while the rear lights glow red. Reverse direction and watch the lights swap automatically. The directional switching happens in real-time without any manual adjustment needed.
Controlling Light Power
Right-click individual light blocks to toggle them on and off manually. If you're controlling the train from the conductor seat, you can also manage lighting through the contraption controls interface. This lets you dim or brighten your train's appearance without stopping or dismounting.
