Diagnose and Fix Low Solar Power Output
Checking Light Levels and Obstructions
Equip Engineer's Goggles and inspect your generator. Vertical generators need light level 12 or higher to produce full output. Look upward and around the generator for any solid blocks—even partial sky obstruction reduces power. Remove nearby structures, trees, or roofs blocking direct sunlight.
Weather and Time Considerations
Rain automatically cuts generator output in half. At night, all generators produce zero power. If your setup suddenly loses power, check the time and weather. Plan for these interruptions by adding energy storage or backup rotation sources.
Testing Your Fix
After clearing obstructions or waiting for weather to improve, use Engineer's Goggles again to confirm output has returned to normal levels. For horizontal generators, verify they're facing the correct direction (east or west) and have completely clear line of sight to the sky.
