Applying Silk Touch

Silk Touch allows your drill to collect blocks intact instead of dropping their processed materials. This is essential for mining ores you want to smelt later, or for collecting delicate blocks like ice or glass.

Enchanting Steps

1. Prepare a tiered drill with any drill head attached

2. Obtain amethyst dust

3. Hold the amethyst dust and right-click on your drill

4. Silk Touch is now active

When to Use Silk Touch

Use Silk Touch when:

• Mining valuable ores like diamond or emerald to preserve them
• Collecting ice, glass, or other fragile blocks
• Gathering ore for later processing or decoration

Do not combine Silk Touch with Fortune enchantments on the same drill—they conflict. If you need both effects, craft or enchant a second drill. Silk Touch works with all drill head types, so your speed choice won't affect enchantment compatibility.
