Building Your First Linear Bearing Slider
Setting Up a
Linear Bearing
Linear bearings let you create moving parts that slide smoothly along tracks. Start by placing a
Linear Casing block—this serves as your track. Next, attach a Linear Bearing to the casing. Build your structure on top of the bearing using glued blocks, which will move as one unit.
When you activate the bearing, your glued structure becomes a physical slider that moves along the casing track. The bearing converts movement speed into redstone signals, with power increasing for every increment of speed. Pair this with the
Andesite Lamp to visualize your slider's speed—the lamp brightens as the redstone signal strengthens.
For complex builds, use the
gyroscopic gearbox to keep moving parts stable and prevent unwanted rotation.
