Find and Mine Ores in the Correct Rock Types

Locate the Right Rock Formation

Ores in Create Geology don't spawn randomly—they're locked to specific parent rocks. Before mining, you need to find the correct stone type:

  • Pyrolusite: Search deepslate and tuff layers deep underground
  • Galena, cassiterite, wolframite: Mine inside granite deposits
  • Magnetite: Look in diorite and andesite rock formations
  • Chromatite: Dig deep into basalt layers
  • Fluorite: Break calcite blocks

Mine Efficiently

Once you've located the right rock type, use a pickaxe to break the parent stone. The ore will drop as raw material, not a finished ingot. Collect these raw ores and transport them to your processing facility. Exploring mountain ranges, deep caves, and the deep dark biome will give you the best chances of finding large ore veins within their host rocks. Mark your mining sites so you can return for more material as your factory expands.
