How to Encase Cogwheels
Preparing Your Cogwheel
Craft or obtain a cogwheel (small or large) from the Create Mod. Have your chosen casing material ready—this can be any block that fits your factory's aesthetic.
Encasing the Cogwheel
Place the cogwheel in your build. Right-click it while holding the casing block. The cogwheel will now display the casing texture while retaining full mechanical functionality and power transmission.
Swapping Casings
To change the casing on an existing encased cogwheel, right-click it with a different casing block. The old casing will be replaced instantly without needing to remove and replace the cogwheel itself.
Design Considerations
Encased cogwheels are especially useful for creating themed factory sections. You can use brass casings for industrial areas, copper for weathered zones, or andesite for a stone aesthetic. Mixing encased and unencased cogwheels can create interesting visual patterns in your gear trains.
