How to Encase a Shaft

Gathering Materials

First, obtain a shaft from the Create Mod and decide which casing you want to apply. Common casings include andesite, copper, brass, and other decorative blocks from Create.

Applying the Casing

Place your shaft in the world. Hold the casing block in your hand and right-click on the shaft. The shaft will now be wrapped in your chosen casing material, maintaining its mechanical function while gaining a new appearance.

Removing the Casing

If you want to change the casing later, simply right-click the encased shaft with an empty hand or use a wrench-like tool to remove it. The shaft will return to its uncased state, and you can apply a different casing.

Tips

Encased shafts still transmit rotational power normally—the casing is purely cosmetic and protective. You can mix and match different casings throughout your factory for visual variety and organization. This works on both horizontal and vertical shafts.
