Set Up Remote Cannon Control for the First Time

Getting the Scope Connector

Before you can aim remotely, you need a Scope Connector item in your inventory or backpack. Craft or obtain this item—it acts as the key to linking your cannon to the scope interface.

Linking Your Cannon

Approach your assembled cannon (works with standard mounts, fixed mounts, cannon carts, and compact mounts). Right-click the cannon while holding the Scope Connector. The cannon is now linked to your scope system.

Opening the Scope View

Press = or , (comma) to open the scope overlay. Your screen will display a green reticle marking the exact direction your cannon barrel points. The overlay will show your current zoom level and any linked range data on the bottom left.

Testing Your Setup

Move your mouse to see the reticle follow your aim. Scroll your mouse wheel to cycle through zoom levels (2x, 4x, 8x magnification). Click the left mouse button to fire a test shot. Your character's movement inputs are blocked while scoped, so you won't accidentally walk into your own blast.

Keep the Scope Connector in your inventory to maintain the link.
