How to Crawl and Stand Back Up with the Crawl on Demand Mod

Entering the crawl position

Once the mod is installed, your character can drop into a prone crawl at any time without needing a trapdoor, a one-block gap, or any special block setup. The default crawl key is Left Alt. Press it while standing and your character immediately lowers to the ground and begins crawling. You do not need to be next to a low space first — you can crawl out in the open, in a cave, or in the middle of a corridor.

Returning to standing

Press the same key again to stand back up. The mod toggles between the two states, so a single tap switches you from standing to crawling and another tap switches you back. If standing does nothing, check that there is enough headroom above you: you cannot stand up while you are underneath a block that only leaves one block of clearance. Crawl forward until you reach an open area, then press the key again.

If the key does nothing

Open your Key Binds settings and look for the crawl entry. Another mod or a conflicting control may already be using Left Alt. Rebind the crawl action to a key you do not use, then test it in a safe spot. Remember the toggle is a state, not a hold — you stay crawling until you press the key a second time.
