Crawling Through One-Block-High Gaps and Tunnels

Why crawling fits through tight spaces

A standing player is roughly two blocks tall, so any gap with only one block of vertical clearance blocks normal movement. While crawling, your hitbox is low enough to pass through those same one-block openings. This is the main practical use of the mod: reaching areas that would otherwise require mining, a trapdoor, or a piston setup.

Step-by-step through a tight gap

1. Walk up to the one-block-high opening.

2. Press the crawl key (default Left Alt) to drop prone.

3. Move forward into the gap. Your character slides through instead of being stopped.

4. Keep crawling until you are clear of the low ceiling.

5. Press the crawl key again to stand.

Tips for tunnel work

If you are digging a long one-block tunnel, crawl as you mine so you never have to stand and re-crouch. In caves, crawling lets you slip under overhangs and through cracks between stone without breaking blocks. If you get stuck, back out the way you came — you cannot stand while the ceiling is still low, so retreat to open space before toggling back to standing.
