How to Move and Reorganize Crates and Bags Without Losing Items

Crate Delight crates and bags are designed to be picked up and relocated. Break a placed crate or bag with any tool (or by hand) and it drops as an item that retains its stored contents. This means you can freely rearrange your storage room without emptying each container first.

Step-by-Step Relocation

1. Empty your offhand and main hand of anything you do not want to accidentally swap.

2. Break the crate or bag you want to move.

3. Pick up the dropped item; the contents travel with it.

4. Place it in the new spot and right-click to confirm the inventory is intact.

Reorganizing a Storage Room

If you are rebuilding a base or switching from chests to crates, work in sections. Move one wall at a time so you always know where things are. Keep a temporary chest nearby for anything that does not fit a crate (mixed or non-bulk items). Because crates and bags are dimensionally compact, you can often fit two or three in the space a single double chest occupied, freeing floor space for crafting stations. After moving, re-label with signs or item frames so future you (or your server mates) can find crops quickly.
