How to Find and Upload Your Crash Log Using Crash Patch

Why the Log Matters

A crash message alone rarely tells you the cause. The crash log contains the full stack trace, the mods loaded, and the exact point of failure. Crash Patch gives you direct access to it from the recovery screen so you don't have to hunt through folders.

Opening and Uploading the Log

1. On the Crash Patch recovery screen, look for the option to open or upload the crash log.

2. Use the open option first if you want to read it yourself. Look for the lines mentioning a specific mod ID or class — that's usually the offender.

3. Use the upload option if you're asking for help. This sends the log to a paste service and gives you a link you can share on a forum, Discord, or issue tracker.

4. Copy the link before closing the screen — you'll need it when you post your question.

What to Include When Asking for Help

Paste the upload link, a one-line description of what you were doing when it crashed, and whether the crash happens every time or only sometimes. Don't paste the whole log into chat; the link is enough. If the crash happens during game startup rather than in a world, Crash Patch can't recover the session, but the log viewing and uploading options are still available.
