How to Tell Which of Your Mods Actually Needs Crafted Core

Why this matters

Crafted Core adds no content on its own, so if you see it in your mod list you may wonder why it is there. It exists only to provide shared code that other mods call into. Identifying which mod pulled it in helps you decide what you can safely remove and what must stay.

Read the dependency metadata

Open your mods folder and look at each mod file. Most loaders let you inspect a mod's metadata — either through the in-game mod list screen or by opening the mod file as an archive and reading its manifest. In that metadata, look for a dependencies section listing Crafted Core. Any mod that names it there is a mod that requires it.

Cross-check against behavior

A practical test: temporarily move Crafted Core out of the folder, launch the game, and read the crash or log. The mods that fail to load are exactly the ones that depend on it. Move the core back afterward. This is faster than reading every manifest when you have a large pack.

What to do with the answer

If you want to remove Crafted Core to slim down your pack, you must first remove every mod that depends on it. Removing the core alone will break those mods. Conversely, if a dependent mod is misbehaving, keep the core installed while you troubleshoot the dependent mod — the core itself is rarely the cause.
