Prevent Experience Loss on Death

Enable the Experience Module

Access your Corpse Complex configuration file or in-game config GUI. Locate and enable the experience module.

Configure Experience Retention

Find the experience drop settings within the module. You can set options to keep all experience points upon death, lose a percentage, or lose a fixed amount. To prevent all experience loss, set the retention to keep 100% of your experience.

Control Experience Orbs

The experience module also lets you manipulate how experience orbs are generated and behave. You can disable orb drops entirely, reduce the number spawned, or keep the vanilla behavior.

Alternative: Partial Loss

If you want some consequence to dying without total experience loss, configure a percentage-based loss instead—for example, keeping 75% of your experience while losing 25%.

Verify Your Settings

Die in a test environment and check your experience bar after respawning. Your experience level should match your configured retention settings.

Combine with Other Modules

You can pair experience settings with inventory and hunger modules to create a balanced death penalty system tailored to your playstyle.
