Why a Mod Won't Load Without CorgiLib (and How to Confirm It's the Cause)
CorgiLib is a library, not a content mod. It ships shared code that Corgi Taco's projects and other dependent mods call into. That means it usually does nothing visible on its own, but removing it breaks anything that depends on it.
Recognising a Missing-Library Crash
If a dependent mod is present but CorgiLib isn't, the game typically fails during startup with a message naming the missing mod as a dependency, or crashes when the dependent mod tries to read a config format it can't parse. A config file that looks like valid JSON but contains // comments is a strong hint that CorgiLib's JSON5 serializer is expected.
Confirming and Fixing
1. Check your mods list for CorgiLib alongside any mod that lists it as required.
2. If it's absent, add it back and relaunch.
3. If it's present but you still crash, read the log's first error rather than the last — the root cause is usually near the top.
What CorgiLib Does Not Do
Don't expect blocks, items, or mobs from it. If you installed it hoping for content, that content lives in the mods that depend on it. Keeping CorgiLib installed is harmless on its own and necessary for its dependents.
