How to Build a Rain Sound Test Chamber

Purpose

A test chamber lets you compare every rain sound side by side without wandering your whole world. Build one small open-topped cell per material and walk between them during a storm.

Construction

1. Choose a flat outdoor area with clear sky access.

2. Build several small cells, each with a different surface block as its floor: glass, metal, wool, leaves, and a magma block section.

3. Leave the tops fully open so rain lands directly on each floor.

4. Keep walls low or use non-covering borders so nothing blocks the raindrops.

5. Space the cells apart so sounds do not overlap confusingly.

Using the Chamber

Note which material you prefer for roofs, patios, and paths. Because the mod keys off the surface hit, the floor block in each cell is what matters. Once you have your favorites, apply those blocks to real builds. For lava, use a separate safe cell with a barrier so you can hear the hiss without falling in. Re-test after changing blocks to confirm the sound still matches what you expect.
