Using Jump Boost to Step Up Full Blocks Without Jumping

What the mod changes

With Convenient Effects installed, Jump Boost at level two or higher lets you walk up a full block automatically, like a built-in step assist. This makes parkour, cave exploring, and traversing rough terrain much smoother because you don't have to time jumps.

Getting and using the effect

1. Obtain Jump Boost in the usual way, such as drinking a potion or standing near a beacon with the effect selected.

2. Make sure the effect level is at least two. At level one you'll still jump higher, but the auto-step behavior only kicks in from level two upward.

3. Walk toward a one-block-high ledge. Instead of jumping, you should rise onto it automatically as you move forward.

4. Chain this across staircases of single blocks, hillsides, and uneven cave floors for fast, fluid movement.

Practical tips

  • Combine it with Speed for very quick traversal across hilly biomes.
  • It won't help with two-block walls, so plan routes around single-block steps.
  • If you're building, this can accidentally pull you onto blocks you meant to walk past, so toggle the effect off when you need precise footing.
