How to Reduce or Hide Potion Particles for a Cleaner Screen

Why particles get in the way

In vanilla, swirling potion particles hover around your screen whenever an effect is active, which can obscure your view during combat, mining, or building. The Convenient Effects mod lets you cut down or remove these particles so you can actually see what you're doing.

Changing the particle settings

1. Open the mod's config screen. You can usually reach it from the Mods list on the main menu or through the in-game mod menu, depending on your loader.

2. Look for the particle-related options. There should be separate toggles for first-person view, third-person view, and all entities.

3. To clear your own screen, disable or reduce particles for first-person view. This is the setting most players want, since it only affects what you see.

4. If you also want other players' or mobs' particles gone, enable the all-entities option. Be aware this changes how the world looks for you everywhere.

5. Save the config and return to the game. Effects should now render with fewer or no particles.

Things to keep in mind

If you play on a server, these are client-side visual changes, so they apply only to you. You can always re-enable particles later if you miss the visual cue that an effect is running.
