How to Spawn on a Continent Instead of Drowning in Ocean

One of Continents' main features is that it guarantees your spawn point lands on at least a medium-sized continent, so you should not wake up on a tiny rock in the middle of nowhere. Here is how to make sure that works for you.

Confirm the spawn behavior

1. Create a new world with the data pack enabled.

2. Look around your spawn. You should be standing on a landmass large enough to explore, not a one-block island.

3. If you spawned in water or on a tiny island, the data pack likely is not active — check the data pack list before generating again.

Choosing a good seed

1. Because Continents does not change biome placement, the same seed produces the same continents and regions across different WorldGen mods.

2. If you found a seed you like in another modpack, reuse it here — your landmarks will be in the same relative positions, just with more ocean between them.

3. Use the same seed with the Vanilla large biomes world type if you want even bigger biomes on top of the continent layout.

If you still want to relocate

Use /locate for a structure or biome you want, then travel there. Continents does not block vanilla commands, so you can still teleport to a preferred continent if the guaranteed spawn is not to your taste.
