Using Regex Filters to Hide Console Messages by Pattern
When to use regex instead of basic filters
Basic filters only match literal substrings. If the message you want to hide changes each time — different player names, coordinates, or numbers — use regexFilters instead. These entries are Java-style regular expressions, and any console line matching one of them is hidden.
Write and test your pattern
Open the config and find the regexFilters list. Each entry is a regex string in quotes. To hide every "Can't keep up!" line regardless of the numbers after it, use a pattern like .*Can't keep up!.*. The .* on each side means "anything before and after."
Remember that backslashes must be escaped. To match whitespace, write \s in the config, not \s typed once. To match a literal dot, write \..
Common patterns
- Hide lines mentioning a specific player:
.*PlayerName.* - Hide a whole category by keyword:
.*moved too quickly.* - Hide lines starting with a prefix:
^\[Server thread/INFO\].*
Save, restart, and watch the console. If nothing is filtered, your regex likely has an unescaped backslash or a mismatched bracket. Test patterns in a regex tester first, then paste the escaped version into the config.
