Filtering Console Output on a Dedicated Server vs. Client

Decide where the filter runs

Console Filter Mod can be installed on the client, the server, or both, and it is not required on either side. That means filtering behavior depends entirely on where you put it.

Server-side filtering

Install the mod in the server's mods folder. The server console and any log output it writes will have matching lines removed. This is the right choice when you want to clean up the log file itself or reduce noise for server operators. Clients connecting to your server do not need the mod, and they will still see their own local console output unfiltered.

Client-side filtering

Install the mod in your client's mods folder. Only your own game's console and log are affected. This is useful when you are a player who wants a quieter log but do not control the server. Other players and the server log are unaffected.

Both sides

If you run both, each side filters independently using its own config file. Edit the config on the machine where you want the change to take effect. A filter added only on the client will not silence the server log, and vice versa. Restart the relevant side after editing.
