Set Up a Custom Compost Output for Your World
Create a New Composition
Compost Mod lets you define what items the composter produces. Each composition specifies an output item, how often it appears, and how many you get.
1. Open your world's config file or use the mod's configuration system
2. Create a new composition entry with:
- Output item: The item you want (e.g., dirt, apples, or any mod item)
- Chance: Probability as a percentage or decimal (higher = more common)
- Quantity: Min and max number of items produced per compost cycle
3. Save and reload your world
Test Your Setup
Fill a composter with compostable materials (leaves, seeds, food scraps) and watch the output. If the composition isn't working, check that:
- The item name matches Minecraft's registry format
- Chance values are valid (0–100 or 0–1 depending on config format)
- The composition is saved before reloading
You can create multiple compositions for the same composter—the mod will randomly select outputs based on their configured chances.
