Make Colored Water Sources

Locate Water

Find any water source block—oceans, rivers, lakes, or water you've placed yourself all work.

Apply Dye to Water

1. Hold a dye in your hand

2. Right-click on the water source block

3. The water will change to your dye's color

4. The colored water will flow and behave like normal water

Important Notes

• Only source blocks change color when dyed; flowing water won't be affected
• You can create multiple colored water sources in the same area
• Colored water is purely visual—it functions identically to regular water for swimming, drowning, and redstone mechanics

Creative Uses

• Design themed water features (lava-red water, sky-blue water)
• Create decorative fountains and pools
• Build fantasy landscapes with unusual water colors
• Distinguish different water systems in your world
