Making Sure the Pack Loads Correctly Before You Play

Getting the load order right the first time saves you from the frustration of an empty wallpaper gallery later.

Before Entering a World

On the title screen, go to Options, then Resource Packs. Find the pack in the available list on the left and move it to the selected list on the right. Confirm it sits above any other pack that might touch PC textures. Do not enter a world until this is done — the pack reads its assets at load time, so joining first and enabling later will not populate the gallery.

After Adding or Removing Other Packs

Any time you change your resource pack lineup, recheck the position of this pack. Adding a new pack above it can silently override the wallpaper textures, making it look like the pack stopped working when it is actually just being outranked. Keep it near the top if wallpapers matter more to you than whatever the conflicting pack changes.

Quick Sanity Check

Once in-game, open your PC and open the wallpaper selector. If you see a large gallery rather than a handful of defaults, everything loaded correctly. If not, exit to the title screen and repeat the steps above rather than troubleshooting inside the world.
