Leveling Up Without Mob Grinders or Villagers
Why This Mod Exists
In superflat, skyblock, peaceful-locked, or custom worlds where monsters do not spawn naturally, the usual XP sources — mob grinders, villager trading, furnace arrays — are either unavailable or impractical. Cobblemon: PlayerXP replaces those with Pokémon battles as your XP source.
Setting Up a Repeatable XP Routine
1. Build or find a reliable source of wild Pokémon encounters, such as tall grass, water, or a spawn area suited to the Pokémon you want to fight.
2. Keep a team that can win battles quickly and safely. Type advantages matter — bring Pokémon that resist or counter what spawns nearby.
3. Fight repeatedly. Each win adds player XP, so a short loop of encounters becomes your leveling engine.
4. Use healing items or a nearby healing station between fights so you can keep going without downtime.
Because the XP comes from winning rather than from killing mobs, you are not dependent on spawn rates of hostile creatures. This makes the mod especially useful on servers or single-player worlds where the difficulty is set to Peaceful or where mob spawning is disabled by datapacks or world type. Treat Pokémon battles as your replacement for a mob farm: the more efficiently you win, the faster you level.
