Designing a Sky Base or Floating Island
Foundation and Support
Start by building a solid base high in the sky using normal blocks. Then transition to Cloud Glass for the outer edges and decorative elements. This gives your base structural integrity while maintaining the floating aesthetic.
Creating Walkable Cloud Surfaces
Since Cloud Glass is collision-free, layer it thickly to create the visual impression of solid ground. Players will pass through, but the dense layering makes it feel intentional—like walking on soft, ethereal clouds. Use multiple Cloud Glass blocks stacked vertically for this effect.
Blending with the Sky
Choose Cloud Glass colors that match your world's sky. This makes your structure blend seamlessly with the environment, enhancing the illusion of a true sky base. Add regular building blocks for interior rooms and functional spaces, then use Cloud Glass for decorative outer shells and connecting bridges.
Visibility and Navigation
Mark pathways with subtle lighting or contrasting colors so players don't get lost. The transparency can make navigation confusing, so clear visual cues help.
