How to Open and Use a Mod's Config Screen (Cloth Config)
Cloth Config doesn't add its own menu button. Instead, it gives other mods a settings screen that you open through whatever entry point that mod provides. Your job is to find that entry point, then use the screen it opens.
Finding the config entry point
Most mods that use Cloth Config expose their settings in one of a few common places:
- A Mods list screen (often reachable from the main menu or pause menu), where each mod has a config or settings button.
- A
Mod Menu-style integration, where clicking a mod's name opens its Cloth Config screen directly. - A keybind the mod registers, which you can check and rebind under Options > Controls > Key Binds.
- A command, usually something the mod documents, that opens the screen in-game.
If you can't find a button, check the mod's own description or in-game tooltip; Cloth Config itself won't show up as a configurable mod because it has no settings of its own.
Using the screen
Once open, you'll see categories on the left and options on the right. Cloth Config screens typically include:
- Toggles for on/off features.
- Sliders for numeric ranges.
- Dropdowns for picking one of several choices.
- Text fields for names, paths, or lists.
- Sub-categories you click into for nested settings.
Change what you want, then press Save (or Done) to apply. Some mods apply changes instantly; others require a game restart, which the screen will usually warn you about.
