Scan Instead of Search

In a big library, opening every Chiseled Bookshelf to hunt for one enchanted book wastes time. With this mod you can scan shelves visually. Walk along your shelves with your crosshair pointed at each one; the overlay tells you what is inside before you interact. Because normal, enchanted, and feathered books are sorted into distinct groups in the display, you can skip any shelf that clearly lacks the category you want.

Step-by-Step Routine

1. Approach the section of shelves you want to check.

2. Aim your crosshair at the first shelf and read the overlay.

3. Note whether your target category (for example, enchanted books) is present.

4. Move to the next shelf and repeat, only stopping when the display shows the type you need.

5. When you find it, interact with the shelf to take the book.

Organizing Around the Display

Since the mod groups book types, you can deliberately stock shelves by category and the overlay will reflect that. Keep enchanted books on dedicated shelves, feathered books on others, and plain books together. Then a single glance at the display tells you both what is there and roughly where, letting you retrieve a book in seconds rather than emptying shelves one by one.
