How to Filter, Search, and Manage Chat History

On busy servers the chat scrolls fast, so knowing how to filter and search keeps you from missing important messages.

Filtering Messages

Use the tab filters described in the tab guide to route messages into separate views. Beyond tabs, individual tabs can hide messages that match unwanted patterns, such as spam or repeated system notices. Set up a filter to ignore a noisy message type and it will stop cluttering the tab you are reading.

Searching Chat History

Open the chat screen and use the search function to look through recent messages. Type a keyword, a player name, or part of a command, and the mod highlights or lists matching lines. This is useful when someone shared coordinates or a link earlier and you need to find it again without scrolling manually.

Clearing and Keeping History

Each tab can be cleared independently, so you can wipe a noisy tab without losing the rest of your chat. If you want to preserve something before clearing, copy the message or take a screenshot first. Adjust how many lines of history the chat keeps in the mod's settings if you find old messages disappearing too quickly or using too much space. Keeping history moderate helps performance on long play sessions.
