How to Read the Revised Chat Reporting Tooltips in Chat Reporting Helper
The Chat Reporting Helper resource pack replaces the default, vague tooltips on report buttons and chat indicators with plain-language explanations. Once the pack is enabled, you do not need to configure anything — the new text simply appears wherever the vanilla game shows reporting-related UI.
Where to Look
Hover over the report icon next to a player's name in the social interactions screen, or over the report button that appears when you open a chat message's context menu. Instead of the stock wording, you will see a short, neutral sentence describing what that button actually does on a server — for example, whether it sends a report to Mojang's moderation service or only to the server operator.
Interpreting the Labels
Status icons next to chat messages (such as the indicator that a message is unverified) now carry clearer captions. Read them as factual statements about the message's signing state, not as warnings that you are in trouble. If a tooltip says a chat is unverified, that simply means the message was not cryptographically signed and therefore cannot be reported through the standard system.
Because the pack only changes displayed text, nothing about your ability to send or receive reports changes. Use the tooltips as a quick reference whenever you are unsure what a button will do before clicking it.
