How to Manage, Edit, and Remove Chat Triggers

Editing Existing Triggers

Over time your trigger list grows and some entries become outdated. Open the Chat Notify config menu to see all saved triggers. Select any entry to edit its word or phrase, its sound, or its enabled state. Changes take effect after you save or close the screen. If you only want to pause a trigger temporarily rather than delete it, toggle it off instead of removing it, so you can re-enable it later without retyping.

Removing Triggers

To delete a trigger, select it and use the remove/delete button in the config screen. Confirm the deletion if prompted. Removing unused triggers keeps the list readable and avoids unnecessary sound checks on every chat message. If you are unsure whether you still need a trigger, disable it first and delete it later once you are confident.

Keeping the List Useful

Group related triggers by purpose — personal mentions, trade keywords, event callouts — and give each a distinct sound so you can identify the category by ear. Periodically review the list after changing servers or playstyles, since keywords tied to an old community will never fire again. A tidy, purposeful trigger list makes the mod far more effective than a long list of forgotten entries.
