How to Fix Freelook Not Working or Feeling Wrong

Check for Keybind Conflicts

If holding the freelook key does nothing, another action is probably bound to the same key. Open Options, then Controls, then Key Binds, and look for duplicate assignments. Rebind freelook to a free key and test again.

Confirm You Are Holding, Not Tapping

Freelook only stays active while the key is held in hold mode. A quick tap will barely move the camera before it snaps back. Hold the key down for the full duration of the glance.

View Snaps Back Too Fast

This is expected behavior: releasing the key returns your view to your movement direction. If you want to keep looking around for longer, simply keep holding. If your build supports a toggle mode, switch to it so the view stays free until you press the key again.

Mod Not Loading

If the keybind does not appear at all, the mod may not be enabled for your game version or may conflict with another camera mod. Remove other camera-altering mods, restart the game, and check the controls menu again. Also verify the mod is actually present in your mod list before troubleshooting further.
