Set Up a Compact Mount for Vertical Cannon Aiming
Placement and Basic Setup
Place your compact mount block on a solid surface where you want to build your cannon structure. The compact mount is designed to control only vertical (pitch) aiming, so choose a location where your cannon's firing arc won't be obstructed.
Connecting Rotational Power
Attach a shaft to the side of the compact mount block. This shaft receives rotational power from your Create mod power system—use a motor, water wheel, windmill, or any other rotational power source connected via shafts and gearboxes.
Adjusting Pitch
Once power flows through the shaft, rotate it to move your cannon's barrel up and down. The direction of rotation determines pitch direction; experiment to find which way raises or lowers your aim. The compact mount will smoothly adjust the vertical angle of any cannon structure built on top of it.
Building Your Cannon
Construct your cannon barrel, breech, and other components on the top surface of the compact mount. The mount itself handles all vertical aiming—you don't need separate aiming mechanisms for pitch control.
